Warm Front
Eligible homeowners and tenants, with the landlord’s permission, can get government grants up to £3500 (or up to £6000 if oil central heating involved) for measures including loft and cavity wall insulation, draught-proofing, boiler repairs and replacement and new central heating systems.

Free and impartial advice on energy issues, including energy efficiency grants. They manage grant schemes for several local councils in East and West Sussex.

Low Carbon Building Programme
BERR’s Low Carbon Buildings Programme was set up to provide grants to help towards the purchase and installation of microgeneration technologies for householders, community organisations, schools, the public sector and businesses.
 
Unfortunately on Monday 24th May 2010 the Government announced that as part of its commitment to delivering £6bn of departmental spending cuts in 2010/11 with regret that they announced that £3 million of savings would be taken from the Low Carbon Building Programme (LCBP) resulting in its immediate closure to new applications.
 
Sussex Wildlife Trust (SWT)
The aim of the Sussex Wildlife Trust is to conserve the Sussex landscape, wildlife, and its habitats, and to use its knowledge and expertise to help the people of Sussex to enjoy, understand and take action to this end. WildCall is the Sussex Wildlife Trust’s free wildlife information service aimed at answering wildlife and conservation queries from the public.

A UK NGO focused on decreasing water consumption in the UK and building the evidence base for large scale water efficiency. They provide information and assistance to households and businesses.

Environmental Assistance for Communities
 
Green Communities
A programme from the Energy Saving Trust that aims to support, facilitate and promote community based energy projects. They offer a range of assistance from free training and advice focused on project planning and funding, to technical support and a website packed with resources.
 
BIG Lottery Fund
Every year BIG Lottery Fund gives out millions of pounds from the National Lottery to good causes. The money goes to community groups and to projects that improve health, education and the environment. Awards for All, Reaching Communities and Changing Spaces are just three of their programmes that help the kind of projects we encourage through the Ecofaith partnership. If your faith group is registered as a charity or as a not-for-profit organisation, you may be eligible for grant. Go to their website or call their helpline to find out more.

Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB)
Free, confidential and independent advice to help resolve debt, benefits, housing, legal, discrimination, employment, immigration and consumer problems.

Government service for impartial consumer advice on energy services and making a complaint. Also find out more about the Priority Service Register that should be available to all vulnerable residents through the energy companies.
