Solar panels ‘could raise £34m’ for places of worship
  
St Silas church, in Pentonville, London has been fitted with specially-manufactured PV tiles under British Gas’s Green Streets programme. Installing solar panels on British churches and other religious buildings could raise £34 million per year through Feed-in Tariff (FiT) payments and electricity bill savings, according to figures released by British Gas. Bishop blesses compost toilet

Rural churches with no running water are improving their facilities with the installation of cost-effective compost toilets. The latest environmentally friendly toilet, installed in an isolated church in Devon, has been blessed by the Bishop of Crediton, the Rt Revd Bob Evens. Historic Lincoln Church installs solar panels
 
St Denys Church, Sleaford has celebrated the installation of solar panels with a special service of dedication led by the Bishop of Lincoln Dr John Saxbee. Click on the following link to read the full article.
 
Lambeth Palace bees buzz for miles
 
Get a buzz out of caring for creation, said David Shreeve, the Church of England’s National Environment Adviser, after visiting Lambeth Palace’s 12 hives, whose bees help London grow greener. The bees pollinate plants and flowers across a seven mile radius in the capital with each hive providing around 60lbs of honey a year. Wax from one hive has even been used to make a small model of the Archbishop of Canterbury. Click on the following link to read the full article 
 
Carbon-free Light in Hadlow Down
"Let there be carbon-free light", was the vow of church and community leaders in Hadlow Down. St Mark’s Churchyard has become the first in the country to install an innovative environmentally-friendly lighting system which it hopes will cut its energy bills and combat crime. Ever thought of making more of your flower festival?
 
The Weed and Wildflower Festival is held every other year at Bignor Church. As ever this year’s festival was an inspirational event celebrating the glorious countryside around us and its Creation.
